Alley Cropping at Wagon Wheel Farm

Wagon Wheel farm installed a market garden permaculture design by Cynthia Taylor and Katie Trozzo for cultivation beds on contour with plans for perennials such as cut flowers and berries throughout the system creating a small scale Appalachian alley cropping system (rows of trees planted in between crops). The contour beds and perennial plans catch and store the water and nutrients that were previously lost from the system.
